Presentation Transalp Rando

    TRANSALP Rando
1200 km-long ultra randonnée though Italy, Austria and Slovenia
First edition from 2 to 5 June 2022

TRANSALP Rando, our next great event, is a 1.200 km-long ultra randonnée with 12.000 mt of positive altitude: the first edition will be held from 2 to 5 June 2022. The itinerary covers the north-eastern side of Italy, still uncrossed by such a kind of ultra randonnées. The main landscape is mountainous as it crosses Alps and Dolomites in Italy, Austria and Slovenia.

At the same time, there will be a classic 600 km-long randonnée. Our goal is to bring as many randonneurs as possible to this great event.

In the next months we will add more information and updates on this page. For more details, visit the TRANSALP Rando website and subscribe to the newsletter.

    YEAR 2022 – FIRST EDITION

    TRANSALP RANDO

    Lenght 1.200 km – 12.000 +altitude

    Ultra Randonnée

    1.200 KM ROUTE

We start in Verona and then we head East, cycling along the valley of river Piave until Cortina d’Ampezzo, the beautiful town overlooked by the majestic Dolomites. We leave the Veneto region behind and we reach Sudtirol: there, we get to Villabassa, in the heart of Val Pusteria, after 300 km from the starting point. We enter in Austria following the valley of the river Drava, and finally we get in Slovenia cycling along the river Sava valley. There we flank the coast of the magical Lake Bled and after 600 km from the starting point we arrive in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital city, our turning point.

The way back heads West passing by Tarvisio and Tolmezzo, in the heart of the rugged mountains of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. There we climb Monte Croce Carnico mountain pass and go back in Austria. The itinerary follows again the river Drava valley and goes back to Italy along Val Pusteria: we meet Villabassa again after 900 km. We head South cycling along the Isarco and Adige valleys until the large and blue Lake Garda. Once there, it’s almost done: still few kilometres and we are finally back in Verona!
